Vision

To be a leading center in promoting the concepts and practices of sustainable development within the university and the wider community, by integrating environmental, economic, and social dimensions into academic and administrative plans and programs, in alignment with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Iraq’s vision for future development.

Mission

Raise awareness of the importance of sustainable development among students, faculty, and staff through educational and training activities. Integrate sustainable development principles into curricula and research programs. Implement environmental initiatives such as reducing energy and water consumption, and promoting recycling on campus. Develop partnerships with local and international institutions to support sustainable development projects.  Encourage scientific research that addresses sustainability issues in health, environment, economy, and society. Contribute to addressing national challenges such as climate change, food security, and natural resource management. Prepare periodic reports on sustainable development indicators within the university and measure progress towards achieving them.
