Vision:
To establish the Occupational Health, Safety, and Environmental Protection Unit as a trusted reference for building a safe, healthy, and sustainable environment for all members of the educational institution (University of Al-Hamdaniya)—including faculty, staff, and students—by protecting them from workplace injuries and ensuring proper response to emergency incidents.
Mission:
The unit is committed to implementing international laws and standards of occupational health and safety (OSHA) to provide a safe working environment for all employees through continuous training and periodic monitoring of all university facilities and departments. It also seeks to promote a culture of safety, responsibility, and environmental sustainability by understanding and applying the principles of the international standard (ISO 14000), disseminating its concepts, and working toward its implementation in alignment with the interests of the academic institution and its members.
Objectives:
- Encourage employees to minimize workplace risks and implement occupational health and safety programs.
- Maintain permanent records to monitor work-related injuries and occupational diseases.
- Develop training programs to raise awareness of occupational health and safety practices.
- Establish and enforce occupational health and safety regulations and programs across all work locations.
- Prepare a specialized manual for the University of Al-Hamdaniya that includes OSHA-related occupational health and safety regulations, based on the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research.
